The Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association held its annual Stakeholder Event on January 30, 2020. With over 1,000 attendees from across the province, this was a sold-out premier event that included Alberta Government Chief Economist Catherine Rothrock, CIAC President & CEO Bob Masterson, and the Right Honourable Stephen Harper as speakers. Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Todd Banks was in attendance, along with several of our members. This full-day networking conference offered attendees an opportunity to engage with industry experts and elected officials.
Alberta’s Industrial Heartland is guided by a non-profit association of municipalities dedicated to sustainable eco-industrial development, including Strathcona County. The association strives to promote and facilitate industrial development, collaborate on facilitating services and infrastructure, plan for the area’s use while maximizing attractiveness and efficient industrial development, and to encourage a coordinated approach to achieving and maintaining appropriate standards of emergency preparedness, public safety, and health.
Topics of discussion included Industrial Heartland updates, Alberta’s economic outlook, international trade, geopolitics, and more. We are pleased to share the PowerPoint presentations from the event’s speakers with our members.
